The latest....

Well, where do I start? I finally graduated from nursing school with an associate degree of Science in nursing, which means I know have my RN. After graduation the family and I took a much needed trip to Disneyland, California adventure, Legoland, and Soak city. We happened to be down there during record high temps so it was very hot and there was no wind. I will never complian about Oregons wind again. We all had to take about a 3 hour break each day to go back to the hotel and cool off and sleep. It is amazing how tired the heat can make you. The water park was the best part of the whole vacation for obvious reasons. After we got back from vacation it was time for Edson and my ten year reunion. Unfortunately not very many people showed up and some of the people still acted like we were in high school. Then on July 7th Katy and Ryder and I went down to Mexico for my Lapband surgery. I have already lost 13 pounds, woohoo!!! I took my NCLEX state boards on July 22nd and past with flying colors so now I can write RN behind my name. It has been a busy summer hand it has gone by way to fast.

The kids are getting big and very interested in new activities. Dylan tried roller hockey this year but he is not to good on his blades yet so he didn't enjoy it too much, soccer starts in the fall and both Dylan and Jadyn will be playing this year. It should be interesting. We also plan on getting Dylan started in Karate and Jadyn in Dance of some sort. Edson has been working lots of overtime to fund or vacations until I start getting a steady paycheck. The plan is to work and Skyline Hospital in White Salmon in the Labor and Delivery department. Mean while I have been working at the Oregon Veterans Home as a charge nurse. I enjoy the work most of the time but I am anxious to get started in Labor and Delivery. Thats all for now I will try to post more often and I think I am going to start a blog that is just about my wieght loss with before and after pics.

Wow what a year!

It has been a long time since I have posted anything. It has been a very busy few months. Nursing school has kepy me very busy and fall term was especially hard. I am pretty sure it is what you call a "weeding out" term. They figure if you can make it through fall term you just might deserve to be a nurse. In November, the day before thanksgiving I dislocated my elbow and of course it was my right elbow and I happen to be right handed. By some miracle I made it through the end of the term. Our christmas was good but kind of rocky. Winter term was much better and we finally learned how to start IV'S however I think I am the only one in the class that did not get to start one on a real person. Dylan has been doing well in school he is showing improvement in all areas and it is so amazing to me how much he has learned this year. He is especially proud of being able to count to a hundred. He has been learning how to sound out words and now recongnizes a lot of words. Jadyn loves to go to preschool and play with her friends and when she gets home form school she pretends she is the teacher and her dolls and teddy bears are the kids. It is not unusual to come home and find the floor covered with bears with hand towels on them taking their naps. She wants to be just like her brother and tries hard to write like he does. It is very cute. Edson has been busy working at NORCOR and getting his internet marketing biz off the ground. I have been working part time at the Veteran's Home and enjoy the residents that I work with. Only one more term of school and I will be done. Hopefully then I will update my blog more often.

Our September!!!!

I know it has been a long time since I posted anything and I apologize. September was a very busy month for our family. Dylan started kindergarden at Dry Hollow Elementary, go viking's. Jadyn started her second year of preschool at Great n' Small. I started back to nursing school to finish up my RN. Edson has been working nights full time and establishing his online business. Dylan also started playing soccer this year and he is really enjoying it.



Dylan was very excited to start school but when he got there the first day and his best friend was in the morning class instead of his he was pretty bummed. He is finally starting to make new friends and getting used to having to sit still in class. He has decided that preschool was much funner then kindergarden.



Jadyn was scared to go to preschool the first day because Dylan would not be there. When I came to pick her up however she cried and through a fit because she did not want to leave. Her teachers say she is really coming out of her shell this year. I responded with, "what shell".



So far nursing school has not been too bad. we are focusing on pysch nursing these first few weeks and it is very interesting. I can't wait to learn how to start IV's and clinicals. This year we are more on our own and don't have to wait for an instructor to perform our skills. It has been crazy getting everyone where they need to be but I am loving it. Watching Dylan grow and start to read is just indescribable.
